SUBMISSIONS OPEN!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SOUND COMICS!!

As we work to lay the extensive groundwork of what will be known to many as the SOUNDVERSE. We will be working diligently to connect with both established professionals as well as new up and coming artists.
Of course, if you have that phenomenal passion and driving love for comics that shows through, we may consider hiring you.

CALLING ALL CREATIVES!

First and foremost, in order to be a successful artist in the comic book industry it requires several layers of skills, unyielding dedication, and most importantly patience on all levels. Truly, you have to LOVE it. We look to help in nurturing those areas and well as supporting your journey if you are determined.

If you feel you meet those initial areas, we will surely look forward to your submission.

SUBMISSION F.A.Q'S

(*please read all items below before submitting)

WHAT WE ACCEPT

(*At this time we are only accepting creatives located in North America (*USA). We appreciate your understanding.)

Currently we are looking for the following:

  • Concept Artists
    • (*Character & Creature Designs, Environments, World Building, etc..)
  • Cover Artists
  • Pencilers (*also specializing in sequential work)
  • Inkers
  • Flatters
  • Colorists
  • Letterers

***Both Digital and/or Traditional skills welcomed!

(*Our apologies, but we are not searching for writers at this time. Should this open up, we will let everyone know.)

WHY ONLY NORTH AMERICAN SUBMISSIONS?!

At this time we are currently leaning towards USA submissions kindly. This is mainly due to our current logistic capabilities as we are a small startup.

Rest assured, we love creatives from all around the world and look forward to eventually working with you!

Thus, we are still filing any and all submissions should they come in from any of our international creatives respectively.

This way should we expand our recruiting range to international in the future we have them on file for consideration.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and care in this.

BUT DOES IT PAY?

We at Sound Comics believe wholeheartedly in compensation for any creatives work. Thus means, if selected this will be paid work within the framework of the company’s available budget.

DO WE ACCEPT UNSOLICITED MATERIAL?

At this time, we at Sound Comics will not be able to accept, read, or consider unsolicited material. This includes ideas, themes, concepts, or suggestions of any kind respectively.

(*All characters, ideas, stories, etc.. created by SOUND COMICS INC. are therein works of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.)

I WOULD LOVE TO SUBMIT! IS THERE A SAMPLE SCRIPT?

Currently, we do not offer a sample script for review. It is as easy as sending in your most recent art, if possible, of course we are not requesting you to draw new work. Please show us your range in this submission.

We are looking for those with focus in their skill. (i.e., pencilers – can you tell a story through the panels with depth of character while balancing pacing, environment, impact, and clarity? Inkers – can you work to both compliment the artist in tandem while enhancing visuals, etc?)

Ultimately, each team member matters and helps to give purpose to fulfilling an exciting reader experience. We believe in you all!

CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY FEEDBACK ON MY WORK?

We would love to be able to give healthy creative feedback on your abilities. However, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate this. Hopefully will be able to in the future as our creative team grows.

HOW LONG WILL THE SELECTION PROCESS TAKE?

We will always be looking to build a strong connection of creatives as we are looking to launch several titles as the years go by. In doing so, the selection process may be on going depending on volume of submissions.

However, a good gauge on whether you are selected or not will be based on a specific window of time. We will be working diligently to respond to everyone in kind within a 30-day period. But please understand, it is safe to say that if you have not heard back from us within a 30-day period then your submission is a pass at this time.

We ask that you not be discouraged though as it does not necessarily mean that your work was not up to standards. It may just mean that the style is not something we are looking for at this time per the project needs. So please keep creating, you never know when we may need you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM SELECTED?

This is where we get the exciting opportunity to get to know you better! Congrats on being selected! Our Creative Director will reach out and review some details with you on the project.

Ultimately, we will get to know your thoughts and feelings on potentially being involved. We want to make sure that you’re excited and interested to spend your valuable time with us. Should you decide to join the us in this endeavor, we would then kindly require an NDA to move fully into the process respectively.
